3 Tips For Using a Rug Doctor When Auto Detailing

If you are a car aficionado or you are simply someone who likes to keep your possessions looking as good as possible, you may spend a good amount of time keeping your car clean and properly maintained. As part of this routine maintenance, occasional auto detailing is a must.

Fortunately, with the right tools, auto detailing can be far easier than you might think. One tool that is indispensible when it comes to auto detailing is the Rug Doctor. To that end, here is a look at three tips on using a Rug Doctor for auto detailing.

Tip #1: Get it Clean with the Rug Doctor Upholstery Kit

Every Rug Doctor comes complete with an upholstery kit, which includes the Universal Hand Tool. With the powerful suction capabilities of the machine coupled with the 12 inch hose attachment, you can easily reach and clean all of the carpeting, upholstery and floor mats in your vehicle. Even those hard-to-reach areas beneath and around the seats can be cleaned with the help of the upholstery kit.

Tip #2: Use the Right Cleaner

Rug Doctor offers a special Upholstery Cleaner that is specifically designed for use with most fabrics, including velvet. The high foaming solution is highly effective at removing the body oils and other dirt and grime that gets ground into the upholstery.

Tip #3: Keep Your Machine Protected for Future Use

While the Rug Doctor is durable and designed for regular use, there are certain steps you can take to ensure proper performance and efficiency for years to come. One of the most important steps you can take to ensure long-lasting performance is to use the Rug Doctor Anti-Foam cleaner along with your Upholstery Cleaner, Used in the upper white tank rather than in the lower tank, Anti-Foam prevents suds from getting built up in the recovery tank.

This ensures optimal vacuum pressure while also improving the efficiency of the machine. As such, it should always be used when using Rug Doctor Upholstery cleaner or when any other foaming agent has been used to pretreat the upholstery or carpeting in your vehicle.

The bottom line is the Rug Doctor is a valuable tool for anyone who wants to keep his or her vehicle looking its best. So, if you are interested in keeping your car looking great, consider buying or renting a Rug Doctor today.

Great article which answered my questions (I’m planning on using it to clean some vehicle upholstery this afternoon!). But the phrase “every Rug Doctor comes complete with an upholstery kit” is a little bit misleading in that it is a separate attachment that you must ask for and pay extra for (it was $3 with my rental at a local grocery store).
