The holiday season may be over, but at Rug Doctor we know this is still a popular time for entertaining guests (i.e., the Big Game coming up on Feb. 2!).

With that in mind, we have chosen for the second year in a row to extend our Holiday Hotline until Feb. 1.

Rug Doctor experts are available from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. CT at 1-800-Rug Doctor, seven days a week. Consumers can also post questions to the company’s new website chat feature to receive expert cleaning advice seven days a week from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. CT here.

During parties, it’s easy for wing sauce, red beverages or other food and drink items to suddenly turn from a table treat to a carpet or upholstery mess. While we can’t prevent stains from happening, we want to be there for our customers when stains do happen!

Apart from calling our Holiday Hotline or accessing our cleaning experts online, think of these helpful hosting tips as you’re preparing for the Big Game or other post-holiday get togethers:

Make it a potluck: One easy way to take pressure off being the host is letting everyone bring something to the party. Have slots available for hors d’oeuvres, drinks, etc. so that guests can sign up for what they want to bring. My personal go-to is my famous Chile Con Queso! If you’re looking for more perfect recipes, check out our ‘For the Big Game‘ recipe board on Pinterest!

Make everything self-serve: Set up a bar with food, drinks, plates and utensils for guests to easily access. Don’t forget to have a trash can in the vicinity to avoid guests leaving trash around the house.

Thanks to HWTM.com for the tips!

Decorate for the occasion: Items like streamers or posters with your favorite team’s colors for the Big Game or having a festive theme can be a great added touch.

Have the right tools on hand: Our Spot & Stain Remover trigger spray is great to help with stains as they happen. While this isn’t meant to replace deep cleaning your carpet and upholstery, it can be a quick fix during the party. Also have things like paper towels or your favorite kitchen spray to help with hard surface items.

I really appreciate all the cleaning tips you guys provide. The ASPCA thing is terrific as well, as I am an avid dog lover and donate regularly to that cause as well. Keep up the good work rug doctor.
